Lucy is deceitful and rude and so is the entire group who worked here. No one explains anything and before you know it they ask you for hundreds of dollars for a card that has absolutely no value out of state. Go try and get a card in your own state instead. Tourists beware of the scams.

Scam! Not $40! $200 + for a year medical card.They wait till the end to tell you the real price so you're like trapped!

If you think getting a medical marijuana card at a tourist beach is cool, well youre going to get burned for around $200.For several years I paid $40 to $80 per year for a medical recommendation certificate and ID card by visiting a few doctors from weedmaps. The process was always really fast, under 15 minutes. In 2015, I had lots of money to blow while down in LA so I thought it would be cool to renew my card by visiting The Green Doctors at Venice Beach. They advertise $40 and have several staff members patrol the beach looking for clients. I filled out some paperwork then sat down for 15 minutes before being called to the back to see the doctor. My visit with the doctor was less than 5 minutes. The staff then walked a group of us down the beach a ways to another office of theirs where we sat in another waiting area. This wait was over 35 minutes. Finally I was called in to pay for my card, only to learn this is where they work you out of lots more money by telling you the initial $40 was just to see the doctor and get approval. They then wanted an additional $150 for the recommendation certificate for a year and offered a photo ID for my wallet (optional) for another $25. She first started by saying I could pay for a 3 or 6 month option or a full 12 months for $150. Because it had been over an hour at this point, I was annoyed, hot, and thirsty so I agreed to pay the 12 months for the certificate but skipped the ID card. This was the longest it ever took to get my medical recommendation and the most expensive because they scam you for all that money. Since then I switched to using 420Recs online for just $40 a year. No need to visit an office and its very affordable. Medical recs are still great to have for several reasons even though California is now a recreational state.
